12 Jun Tierney & Daniel | Alhambra Hall
When Tierney walked into her exercise science class at College of Charleston, Daniel was sitting in her seat, wearing a Cooper River Bridge Run T-shirt. She was sporting a track-and-field one, so she struck up a conversation with him pretty easily. Says Tierney today, “I haven’t stopped talking since and he hasn’t stopped listening.” Nice! Six years after their meet-cute, Daniel invited Tierney out to brunch at Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island one chilly spring morning. Afterward, the two strolled on the beach, passing strategically by the spot where Daniel had written “Marry Me” in the sand. Tierney, who was ultra-focused on hustling to get a warm towel, walked smack through his sandy proposal. Ultimately Daniel redirected her attention, and, she says, she let out a huge “Yes!” (Also of note: Since the number 13 runs in Tierney’s family—her parents were married on Friday the 13th week, and both she and her siblings were born on Friday the 13th weeks, too, he picked March 13 for the Big Ask.) For the couple’s Big Day, the two asked Luke Wilson Events to design a romantic, bohemian-themed wedding at Alhambra Hall. Take a peek at the great images from Anne Rhett, and be sure to take note of Tierney’s something blue—she wore her grandmother’s headpiece from the 1950s. Just tops.
