13 Apr The Engagement Session
Many couples today are choosing to pack up and go for a engagement photography session. Some of Charleston’s finest photographers sent excerpts from these playful shoots. I love how they capture the moment, the bliss.
Marni Rothschild also sent along a few bits wonderful advice for couples regarding being photographed.
{Advice for pictures, hmmm. I would say first and foremost do an engagement
session! They’re quick and casual and a great way to get comfortable posing
with your betrothed. And you get to be chummy with your photographer so on
the big day they feel more like a friend and less like a hired stranger with
a camera.
Next up, relax your shoulders. With all the stress and anxiety that comes
along with walking down the aisle a lot of people tend to get a little wound
up and we typically wear it in our shoulders. If you can relax your
shoulders it makes your neck look longer (translation: you look taller and
thinner!) and your back will thank you too!

And finally, laugh! Posed photos look strained when you’re trying to stand
still and smile. Move around and laugh and you’ll look more natural. Or just
throw your head back and belt out a belly laugh. You’ll feel so silly it
will trigger a cascade of real laughter and hopefully nobody will get it on
video.}
