Two major white-dress rites of passage collided on Sarah’s College of Charleston graduation day when she, wearing her requisite white frock, exited the stage with diploma in hand to find her Navy uniform-wearing lieutenant, Richard, on bended knee holding a wooden apple box (to symbolize her new career as a teacher). Inside? A ring, of course! Precious, right? A little more than a year later the two posed for pictures in the very same Cistern Yard after having said their “I do’s.” The following reception at the Pavilion at Pepper Plantation was nothing short of charming, thanks to A. Caldwell Events who adorned the gathering hall with the bride’s favorite flower, coral charm peonies.
