17 Mar Reign or Shine {Inspiration Shoot}
What does a bride who wants to feel like a queen need for her Big Day? How about a castle! Lucky for us, Sullivan’s Island has just the spot. A one-time church sitting a mere block off the ocean, the castle came to be when its owner converted the stone building into a stunning mini-stronghold. More recently, Mugdock’s white stucco addition caught our attention for its airy guestrooms, tiers of porches, rooftop terrace, and loggia with arches every which way. The castle is available for weddings, receptions, and overnight guests, so you can actually make the fantasy of saying “I do” regally a reality. As for us, we loved joining photographer Corbin Gurkin to play princess for a few days in some of the most luxurious gowns du jour from Charleston’s finest bridal boutiques. For a gown-by-gown credit, see the captions on this gallery from the spring 2014 issue of our print title, Charleston Weddings magazine .Otherwise, scroll down to soak up inspiration for your own wedding-day look.
