Olivia and Adam met while in aviation school—he flies planes, she flies helicopters, no lie—and after several years of dating they decided to tie the knot in a celebration that was 100 percent them. They combined their reverence for a church setting with their love of nature by bringing the church outdoors in a breathtaking ceremony under the oaks of the Legare Waring House. Rows of pews and a flower-adorned cross set the romantic yet traditional tone that was documented to perfection by MCG Photography. After enjoying post-ceremony cocktails on the home’s courtyard, guests then headed back across the Ashley River to downtown’s Hibernian Hall where the prettiest of receptions awaited. There the ladies of Engaging Events turned the hall into a veritable Eden filled with actual trees, dressed with golden vessels overflowing with beacoups of blush and purple blooms, and plates topped with little sprigs of lavender—swoon! I’m all for this whole “inside-out” concept becoming a trend. Drinks were had, delicious eats were enjoyed, and dances were danced, until before they knew it, it was time to depart through a shower of flower petals. So romantic! “Remember that a wedding is separate from a marriage. There is nothing wrong with putting time and energy into planning the wedding of your dreams, but when your day comes push all of that to the side. All you should focus on is the man at the end of the aisle waiting to make you his wife. Take that moment in and hold onto it. The day goes by so quickly, so breathe in every bit that you can, embrace as many people as you can, and don’t sweat the small stuff.
