14 Nov Molly & Paul {River Course}
Nature decided to throw a big rainy curve ball to quite a few couples who aimed to wed here in Charleston last October. The so-called “1,000 Year Flood” forced Molly and Paul to rethink their celebration at the River Course on Kiawah when vendors (and guests) were physically unable to make it on the island or get from place to place there on the island. However, by the look of these Nickie Stone Photography images, no amount of rain or rising water could keep the love and joy away. The day after their intended wedding date, Molly and Paul exchanged vows in a ceremony led by her cousin (who became ordained online just 20 minutes beforehand), surrounded by friends and family on the back porch of the River Course as the rain poured down. Inside the clubhouse a pared back version of their original reception stunned in its own special way with florals, decor, and a feast prepared by the venue’s head chef and his wife who whipped up every bit of food they could get their hands on as the rest of the food and kitchen staff were stranded elsewhere. After all was said and done, Molly and Paul bolted outside into the downpour for a soaked portrait session to create some of our absolute favorite shots. We think it’s safe to say that this happy couple is set on luck for all of the days of their marriage with such great attitudes and teamwork. Cheers, Molly and Paul!
