25 Nov Michelle & Alex {River Course on Kiawah Island}
We’re heading into this holiday weekend with a wedding so beautiful, it’s sure to keep you inspired through Thanksgiving dinners, “White Friday” shopping, and a weekend full of football. (For tons of Charleston steals and deals for brides and grooms this weekend, click here; and be sure to follow Charleston Weddings on Twitter and Facebook for sale reminders.) Michelle and Alex, a New York City based couple, fell in love with the live oaks and waters of the Lowcountry so naturally, The River Course on Kiawah Island seemed the perfect place to celebrate their wedding day. After a morning of yoga on the beach with her girlies (nice move!), Michelle donned her charming Delphine Manivet gown and wed Alex in a traditional Jewish ceremony under the same chuppah used at Alex’s grandparents’ wedding. How special! Cocktail hour followed on the grand porch of the clubhouse while guests sipped on spirits and enjoyed a “cake” made from wheels of cheese from goat.sheep.cow. For the fall color palette, Charleston Stems pulled all the stops creating dreamy bouquets, centerpieces, and more of rich and warm-hued blooms like dahlias, thistles, and ranunculus, accented with fall leaves and pomegranates. Let’s just say we’re very *thankful* that Captured by Kate was there to snap every pretty bit! Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving, TWRers! (And while we’ll be celebrating with our families these next few days, tune into Instagram to get your fix of wedding prettiness and romance. Plus! Newly engaged couples…share your proposals here…)
