They say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, which explains why Megan looks to be the luckiest girl in the world on her and John’s Big Day. The Lowcountry couple, who first met at a “friendsgiving,” tied the knot at the quaint St. Andrew’s Church in Mount Pleasant, then rendezvoused to the Historic Rice Mill at the City Marina downtown for flawless, and by then, rain-free portraits on the dock with Dana Cubbage Weddings. When they retired to inside to the party, sentimental details Megan had dreamed up filled the place to the brim. Vintage photos of family members on their own wedding days covered the mirrored credenza and every table was marked by a historic Charleston street name. The family crest showed up on name cards, John’s bow tie, and even the remarkable golden cake by DeClare Cakes. A subtle nautical theme came through, too, via a seashell pink and treasure-chest gold palette, oyster shells scattered here and there, and toss pillows punctuated with sequin anchors. By the evening’s conclusion, Megan and John road off into the moonlight by boat—perfection all around.
