29 Jan Mason & Alex | Boone Hall Plantation
What do you get when you mix a love for the outdoors with the inherent girly-girl style that comes when you run a hair and makeup company? Mason and Alex’s well-rounded wedding, of course! Bride Mason (who is co-owner of Charleston I Do) says first and foremost, she wanted to incorporate the passion for Lowcountry life that she and her now-husband Alex share, and then to do so in the most glamorous way possible. With the help of Boone Hall Plantation’s event guru, Natalie Knox, they did just that. Those turkey feathers you see in so much of the décor? Those came from birds the groom, Mason, and her dad have hunted. And take a peek at that crest on their throw pillow that incorporates everything we love about their outdoorsy, elegant day: greenery; soft pink flowers; and a cameo by their sweet pooch, Sage. (Did we mention they named a cocktail after the Pointer?) To cap the night off, they cut into a stunner of a marbled, gold-leafed cake from WildFlour Pastry. Thank you, Dana Cubbage, for capturing all the details to share with us; even though the Big Day might have interrupted turkey hunting season, we think it was so worth it.
