11 Oct Mary & Jeff {Elopement}
Precious, intimate, and oh-so-romantic, Mary and Jeff’s elopement at Angel Oak Park on John’s Island is a picture perfect lesson for any couple thinking of eloping in the Holy City. The laidback Atlanta-based couple knew they wanted something a little more personal than a courthouse wedding, but not quite as time consuming and expensive as an out-of-country elopement, both of which made Charleston and its breathtaking backdrops their perfect option. So on a beautiful May day, Mary, donned her her BHLDN gown, picked up her self-made bouquet (cobbled together blooms from Whole Foods Market, Lotus Flower, and Trader Joe’s) and walked beneath the boughs of the centuries-old oak to Jeff. Short, sweet and perfectly “them”, their ceremony concluded with a sweet kiss and a photo session around the park with photographer Faith Teasley before they couple headed downtown to celebrate with coupes of champagne at Gibbon Carriage House (which they rented from HomeAway), then a cozy dinner at Zero George Café. With only their families and closest friends clued in to the event, and all social media posting of the nuptials delayed a few weeks, Mary and Jeff enjoyed the first days of their marriage one-on-one. How romantic! All of our best, you two!
