06 Jul Maggie & Chase | Lowndes Grove Plantation
While out at a Boston dive bar, Maggie’s sorority sisters dared her to talk to Chase, who was, at that point, a stranger. And her witty pickup line: “Did I see you in Trader Joe’s yesterday?” Apparently, the goofball attempt worked and the two ended up dating. A few years later, the couple was on the beach in Rhode Island with their pup, when Maggie noticed something in Chase’s hand. She thought it—an engagement ring—was a sea creature he was going to throw at her, so she swatted at it. Luckily he had a death grip on the piece, so she didn’t knock it out of his hand and the proposal went off swimmingly. Since Maggie had long vacationed in Charleston, the two chose Lowndes Grove Plantation to exchange their “I do’s.” One of our favorite elements of the setting dreamed up by ELM Events? The enormous words spelling out “FINALLY”. Why? These two dated for three years and then were engaged another three years. “After such a long engagement,” says Maggie, “it felt appropriate to light up our night with that phrase of excitement.” Cheers to the newlyweds who are FINALLY husband and wife!
