07 May Lauren & Adam | Hibernian Hall
Picture this: You head back to school (Clemson to be exact) after Christmas break and amidst the freshly fallen snow, you just so happen to run into “the one.” Sounds straight out of a Hallmark holiday movie, right? That’s how things started for Charleston’s Lauren and Adam, who after a five-year courtship, got engaged at Hibernian Hall. Why that spot? It was where he first saw her in a formal white gown (he was one of her escorts to the Summerville Cotillion Silver Ball hosted there). The two booked the hall for their reception and worked with Chauncey Boykin of Bouquets and Bowties to create a breathtaking space filled with elegant hues of white, champagne, and gold. And roses, lots and lots of white roses. (“Adam always gives me them for special events,” says Lauren.) And how about this for a special surprise: At the reception, Adam serenaded Lauren with a rendition of “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison with an accompaniment from the band The Mighty Kicks. Now that’s what we’re talkin’ about. Cheers to you both!
