24 Jan Laura & Michael {Mansfield Plantation}
When Laura said “Yes!” to fellow Mount Pleasant native Michael’s proposal, she knew exactly where their wedding would take place—at Mansfield Plantation, her family’s 18th century ancestral home, set just outside Georgetown. The venue, these days run as a bed and breakfast and event location, had the perfect bridal suite (inside one of the guest houses), an avenue of oaks that could double as a ceremony aisle, an historic chapel that begged to host the “I do’s,” and a riverfront lawn that cried out for a tented reception. Laura tasked the ladies of Loluma to fashion her and Michael’s dream day, and asked that they use the property’s natural flora for the event. They, in turn, picked camellias and greens from the the grounds, and accented them with blush pink roses and linens in silvery grays and soft blues for an organically elegant experience. “The end product,” says the very happy Laura, “was spectacular.”
