20 Jun Laura & Jay | Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation
There are countless ceremony locations here in Charleston that make our hearts skip beats, but one that has us swooning every.single.time is The Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation. It’s no wonder that Midwestern-born Laura and Jay chose to become husband and wife on the rustic dock overlooking the marshes of Horlbeck Creek. But let’s backtrack a bit. The two met when both were living in Charlotte, North Carolina, but it was here, a little over a year into their relationship, that Jay proposed—at the Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant’s Old Village on her parents’ 35th wedding anniversary, no less. The couple, who moved here so Jay could help found Revelry Brewing Company, handpicked an ace team of vendors like Intrigue Design & Events to plan and design their day, Cru Catering to make sure that all of their guests were served the yummiest Southern fare, and Darby Events to keep the dance floor filled all evening long. Add in sink-into-it seating by the giant fireplace, bistro lights hanging from the rafters, and a custom built bar and tap wall from—you guessed it—Revelry Brewing, and this charmer of a wedding proves, yet again, why we love featuring celebrations at this gem of a venue. Now raise a glass of that craft brew to the lovely couple!
