Laura and Andy met while working in politics in New York City. After the two discovered that they lived on the same block they decided to meet for brunch, which lead to a relationship. On a beautiful October evening, Laura and Andy joined family and friends here in Charleston, where the couple exchanged vows on the garden lawn of the Governor Thomas Bennett House. We love Laura’s effortless bridal look with her elegantly draped gown, loose curls, and whimsical bouquet of garden roses, ferns, and thistles from Out of the Garden. Thank goodness shutterbugs, amelia + dan, were there to capture all of the gorgeousness that the celebration by The Burlap Elephant had to offer. Long tables topped with wild garlands of greenery for runners and lined with bamboo chairs were set up under strands of al fresco bistro lights. As for the dance floor? It made its stylish home under a darling round sailcloth tent. Salthouse Catering served up a delicious family style dinner rich with Southern accents for the out of town guests to feast on—just look at those baskets of mini cornbreads! After dinner and toasts (and countless slices of Wildflour Pastry pie), DJ Mateo turned up the volume and got everyone on the dance floor.
