We are continuing our foray through engagement season with a Folly Beach engagement session photographed by Dreamland Images. The couple who first met for drinks in a quiet bar on the 24th floor of a building overlooking the river Thames and the City of London will be wed in Charleston. Simon is Jewish and Kunthea is Cambodian, the couple will celebrate with a ceremony incorporating both cultures while remaining secular, we cannot wait to see this Daniel Island Club affair!
The couple shared the story of their engagement from their perspective with Amelia and Dan of Dreamland Images.
“…Simon: we planned a weekend away together around the UK countryside including staying at one of the top restaurants in Europe. I always knew I was going to propose and had bought a ring in advance. Kunthea suspected because I’d stopped talking about weddings or checking the size of her ring finger. But when I started my prepared little speech as we sat by the Thames river in the countryside I don’t think she knew what was happening until at least halfway through.That hopefully explains why she kept interrupting me.
Kunthea: Simon’s wallet and keys got stolen the day before we had to leave for the weekend. He had normally kept the ring well-hidden but had left it out that day because he was packing for the trip. I came home from work to let him into the apartment. Luckily the thief hadn’t tried to get in. Simon did very well hiding his worry and the ring!…”
