On the night of Katie’s 21st birthday, Abi, the birthday girl’s sister, took her out on the town in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. At one bar, Abi saw a Mr. Right she thought would be purrrrfect for her sis (bonus: Abi knew the guy). Big sister asked little sister if she had ever met him. “No” she answered, but then came a confession. “I used to stare at him every morning in freshman seminar,” admitted Katie. A little matchmaking ensued and Katie and Trent spent the night toasting and gabbing, and, apparently swimming in the channel, she says. Despite all that chemistry, it took an eternity in dating hours—we’re talking an entire week—for him to see her out again and finally ask for her number. Since then though? The two have been inseparable. They tied the knot at Founders Hall at Charles Towne Landing in a rustic-themed wedding that Ava Moore aced at capturing.
