14 Feb Katie & Bobby {Magnolia Plantation}
Last summer, Charleston Weddings (our parent magazine) paired up with Cindy Zingerella of Engaging Events and Magnolia Plantation & Gardens to give away at $50,000 wedding here in Charleston along with a slew of talented local vendors, including TWR darling Scotti Cline Designs and frequent contributor Richard Bell Photography. Wedding bells rang last Saturday for the lucky winners, and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day today than with a host of stunning images from the Big Day? We’re as nuts over the vivacious red blooms (check out the use of camellias!), crimson fabric draping, and dreamy candlelight as we are over the couple, both of whom are on active duty in Afghanistan. (Bobby Hill of Boaz, Alabama, is an infantry officer and Katie Durham of Miramar, Florida, is a military intelligence officer.) Stationed apart, they pulled some serious strings to be able to film their winning entry video together. Check out how generous (and stunning) the Charleston wedding world can be with a look at the photos and complete vendor list. And if you’re craving more, see this interview with the pair just after they won.
