Talk about “A” for effort! When Katherine and Alex were set up on a blind date to a ball in D.C. (where Katherine was attending law school), Alex hopped a flight from Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he was in grad school, and journeyed some 1,500 miles to escort her. The two (thankfully) hit it off and spent countless hours on Skype over the next three years as they dated long-distance. After graduation, the pair moved together to North Carolina, where Alex soon asked Katherine to marry him. Since Alex grew up vacationing on Kiawah Island, they invited guests here to the Lowcountry to witness them trade “I do’s” and celebrate. On the Big Day, picture-perfect water views from The Creek Club at I’On and gorgeous floral reception décor from Charleston Stems made for a dream wedding fit for a couple with such an auspicious start.
