The love story behind this winter wedding begins back in the fall of 2009 when Jessica met Rok while she was visiting a friend here in Charleston. They struck up a conversation out at a local bar, and spent the night bantering back and forth about sports and politics. After she headed back home to Massachusetts, they stayed in touch, and when Jessica came back down to the Holy City the next year to celebrate the Fourth with her friend, Rok asked her out on their first official date. From then on, the two were an item, dating long-distance for four years while Rok was here, there, and everywhere with the Air Force. When Rok invited Jessica to Charleston for a long weekend, they went to Pearlz (where they went on their first date), then took a walk down to Waterfront Park’s pier to sit on the swings like they had done on their first date. As soon as they sat down, a guitarist started playing the same song that another street musician had played on that night four years prior. Before she knew it, Rok was down on one knee proposing. Given their story started in Charleston, they picked the William Aiken House for their Big Day, and added yet another romantic chapter to their fairy tale. Enjoy!
