Helene, a Hilton Head Island native who has made Charleston her home, knew that she wanted her wedding to be the epitome of southern romance. On a beautiful day this past April, she and her now-hubby, Warren, tied the knot in a stunning ceremony under a seriously magnificent live oak on the waterside lawn at The Island House on Johns Island. Helene and her bridesmaids carried perfect Southern bouquets of white and blush peonies, lilac, tulips, sweet pea and veronica mixed with greenery like eucalyptus and magnolia leaves—is any Southern wedding truly complete without magnolia leaves? The ladies of ELM Events made sure that every detail was in place for their tented reception including greenery table runners, iron chandeliers, and sweet little candles as favors for their guests. Salthouse Catering, one of our fabulous Preferred Vendors, served up a delicious spread of Lowcountry favorites before the newlyweds cut into their sweet two-tier cake by Cakes by Kasarda. Cap it all off with sunset pictures in her Jenny Packham reception gown, a balloon exit and a departure by way of fishing boat and our week is off to a gorgeous start!
