17 Sep Erin & Spence {Marion’s in the French Quarter}
The first time Spence met Erin, they were both out dancing and he actually lifted her off the dance floor to introduce himself. A few years later, he took her out for a surprise picnic on his boat and tearfully proposed. But on their wedding day, it was Erin’s turn to wow when she walked across the lawn of the Confederate Home in a blush ruffled gown from Bridals by Jodi to share the vows that she had written for her love. As you’ll notice from the images by Clay Austin, this wedding was equal parts tender and fabulous, and our editor-in-chief, Darcy Shankland, a friend of the couple who feted them on their Big Day, says that’s exactly how they are—as lovely inside as they are outside. After the ceremony, everyone walked to Marion’s in the French Quarter, where surrounded abundance of candles, lush blooms overflowing from mercury glass vessels, and a three-tiered lace motif cake by WildFlour Pastry, the newlyweds danced the night away to the sounds of the Red Dog Ramblers before hopping into a rickshaw to continue the party at Rue de Jean. Bon chance, mes amis!
