Say hello to today’s sweet couple, Ellis and Steven. These two first crossed paths when Ellis was working as a high school Spanish teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the time, Ellis was thinking about moving back to her home state of Massachusetts, but once she met Steven, all that changed and the two have been inseparable ever since. Three years into their courtship, they were on a romantic weekend getaway to the Holy City when Steven surprised Ellis while they toured Lowndes Grove Plantation with a bended knee proposal. After a big “Yes!”, the newly engaged duo celebrated with an overnight stay in the carriage house at The William Aiken House (check it out—it’s one of Charleston’s best-kept secrets). A short year later, they returned to the property for a first look, portraits with their dog, Chatham, and then a reception following their “I do’s” at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
