08 Sep Ellie & Jack | Wedding Portraits
Whether you’re tracking hurricane Irma or are from Charleston and just know we’re prone to mega storms this time of year, perhaps you could use a great Plan B tale. Try this one out: Ellie and Jack were supposed to tie the knot on October 8, 2016, but due to unexpected guest Hurricane Matthew, they had to postpone their nuptials until this past March—St. Patrick’s Day weekend, in fact. But before we go much further, let’s get a little background on these two and their first serendipitous meeting. When Ellie was a student at the College of Charleston, she worked at Bottles n’ Brushes in Mount Pleasant and commonly visited the Old Village Bakery during her lunch breaks. While standing in line there one day, she got to chatting with the cute boy in front of her (yep, it was Jack). Since these two are all Charleston (he popped the question on Bull’s Island, no less) their Big Day six years later was a local’s dream, what with the ceremony held on Oak Point Plantation on the Stono River and officiated by an uncle (Jack’s). Now that’s what we call a backup plan!
