09 Feb Courtney Jo & Jake {Pavilion at Pepper Plantation}
Good morning, darlings! Settle in and get cozy because we have a breath-of-fresh-air sort of wedding from our Charleston Weddings vaults sure to transport you from dreary winter into sunshine-y spring. Bostonites Courtney Jo (CJ) and Jake chose Charleston to host their one-of-a kind DIY wedding day as it’s where they first met during a bar crawl downtown (fun!). Set into motion by day-of coordinator Christy Loftin (a vendor CJ highly recommends to DIYers looking to avoid undue stress on the Big Day), this labor of love showcases how budget-savvy brides can most certainly have the wedding day of their dreams—and then some. In addition to the beautiful, color-packed design, the duo stayed true to their personal style by modeling their palette after CJ’s peach-hued sapphire engagement ring, topping their wedding pie from Kaminsky’s with glittery gold elephants (an homage to their impending Thai honeymoon), and adding flourish to tabletops by way of heirloom silk hankies from CJ’s family. Innovative and inspiring all wrapped up into one, we are over-the-moon happy for this happy couple.
