18 Aug Christie & John {Folly Beach}
Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Christie met on John the corner of Vendue Range and East Bay Street when she was out celebrating her birthday with girlfriends. A few years later, the love-at-first-sight couple headed to Folly Beach to say their vows in front of a small group of friends and family. Christie, a DIY bride through and through, had arranged for a gorgeous sailcloth tent to be set up outside a beachside home for the festivities. Glowing bistro lights, inviting farm tables set with grey-blue chevron runners and simple arrangements of succulents and tulips, and signs handcrafted by the happy couple dressed the airy setting. When the ceremony started, Christie, wearing a fluttery number from Gown Boutique of Charleston and carrying a simple bouquet of white tulips, walked down a short, sandy aisle to meet John for their vows. Afterward, everyone supped on a mouth-watering spread of barbecue, shrimp, prime rib, and plenty of fixin’s all made by the bride’s mom and stepdad. Later on, say photographers amelia + dan, who captured all the magical moments of the Big Day One, everyone danced the night away on the sandy short. As for me, one of my favorite details from this sweet celebration (besides the way the tent glowed along the dunes at dusk) has to be the barbecue sauce lables—little touches like that makes my heart skip a beat!
