24 Jan Chill Out {Inspiration Shoot at Upstairs at Midtown}
We’re hopping on the “Treat Yourself Tuesday” bandwagon by sharing one heck of an inspiration shoot at a gem of a location, Upstairs at Midtown. As mentioned a few days back, we’re excited to be sharing a few of our favorite stories from 2016 issues of our sister title, Charleston Weddings, here on TWR throughout the coming weeks, and this happens to be one of the crème de la crème. For starters, check out that awe-inspiring paper floral wall deftly designed by D.C.-turned-Holy City-planner Christina Baxter of Cibi Events. With functionality rivaling its cool factor, the installation can serve as a stunning backdrop for the head table or lounge area, then can be repurposed as art in the couple’s newlywed nest once the Big Day is all said and done. An equally important takeaway from the shoot? Opt for a punch of color, like the vivid fuchsia fondant that covers these pint-sized confections baked by Cakes by Kasarda, to help foil an abundance of white or neutral blooms. (Plus, if you’re hosting a warm-weather fête, fondant will hold up in the heat!) But that’s enough from us—scroll through these sweet shots snapped by Priscilla Thomas to soak up inspiration in spades.
