07 Oct Chelsey & Mike {Governor Thomas Bennett House}
Chelsey and Mike both grew up Canton, Massachusetts, but first met years later when she moved back to town and the two bumped into each other one Sunday evening. Soon after, they began running into each regularly until a) Chelsey had a crush and b) one of her friends spilled the beans to Mike. That set off a romance that led to a super-chic black-and-white hued wedding in Charleston. Aiming to provide a classic Lowcountry experience for their out-of-town guests, Chelsey and Mike invited friends and family to the Governor Thomas Bennett House, where all supped on shrimp and grits from Hamby Catering & Events, the Charleston’s classic Southern caterer, while seated at tables named after local streets. As for the palette, just look at how Chelsey’s ivory Madison James ball gown and her bridesmaids’ long black frocks repeated a theme echoed via the checkerboard dance floor, tablescapes, and even the striped pillows that invited guests to nestle into wicker furniture. Love the posh, classic effect of it all. Bravo, Chelsey and Mike—we wish you all the best!
