04 Nov Carrie & Chris {Cotton Dock at Boone Hall}
It was love at first sight when Carrie and Chris’ Cotton Dock affair floated into my inbox and I checked out ethereal photo after photo by Hyer Images. To start the Big Day, Carrie’s parents ushered her into in a vintage limo that drove them all to the iconic iron gates outside Boone Hall Plantation’s mansion where her groom waited. The couple shared a romantic first look there, then proceeded to the ceremony at the nearby Cotton Dock, which featured an unconventional seating arrangement that we are nuts about—take a look and you’ll see what I mean! Inside, the rustic venue was set with tables bearing centerpieces of antique books and blooms from Whole Foods as well as a fabulous vintage marquee reading “Love” over the bar. As guests finished an abundant, Southern-style meal by Duvall Catering, Emerald Empire Band turned up the volume and had everyone dancing in no time—the bride even scoring a solo performance. By night’s end, Carrie and Chris ran through a sparkler exit and rode off in a 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook from Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle. Cheers!
