30 May Caroline & Jacob | The Cedar Room
When Caroline was applying to the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, she shadowed a class that Jacob was in and says it was love at first sight. The following fall she was enrolled, met her crush, kicked off a friendship with him, and then found herself head-over-heels in a romance with the gent. (We couldn’t make up this Hallmark script!) Three and a half years later, Jacob took a redeye flight from California to meet Caroline in her home state of South Carolina, and popped the question on Pawleys Island. For the Big Day, they returned to Caroline’s hometown of Charleston to say their “I do’s” at Redeemer Presbyterian Church and celebrate with a reception at The Cedar Room. Caroline, an artist, dreamed of a party full of color, fruit, and greenery, and the team at Ooh! Events proved the right crew to bring her spunky ideas to life. And speaking of spunk, this bride knows how to roll with things and then some. Take her Monique Lhullier gown—that beaut managed to survive one of Charleston’s infamous flooding hurricanes. “It had a few water stains that were almost completely invisible to the eye,” Caroline says, “but I kinda like the idea that I wore a hurricane-marked dress.” With her weather-it-all-in-style gown and Jacob’s spiffy white jacket, these two hosted a most gorgeous wedding, which we get to relive thanks to a slew of stunning images from Clay Austin. Scroll on to see the kind of pretty that turns a hump day into a Hallmark one.
