13 Jun Cara & Phil | Lowndes Grove Plantation
When Washington D.C. residents (and college sweethearts) Cara and Phil saw Lowndes Grove Plantation, they knew in an instant it was where they were going to say “I do.” Cara, an event planner herself, cooked up a look dominated with classic Chinoiserie elements—think blue and white vases, Blue Willow china, watercolor-styled linens, and more. She shared her ideas with Ali Muller of A. Caldwell Events, who dressed the space with all manner of bespoke touches like fine china painted with gilded table numbers and Wedgewood blue velvet sofas. “Our goal was to create a classy affair that emphasized good food, good drinks, and, most importantly, a great time,” says Cara. The bride also shared that she and Phil shared their “first look” with their French Bulldog and ring bearer, Beauregard. “He was so happy to see his mom and dad,” says Cara, “And we were brought to tears by how dapper he looked in his tuxedo and garland.” Sadly, their pup has since passed, but the two relish those joyous images of him from that day especially. To meet the dapper gent(s) and see Cara’s gorgeous vision come to life, enjoy these images from Caroline Ro.
