12 Apr Brooke & John | Private Residence
Today we’re wandering a little South as we pop down to Bluffton, South Carolina, to enjoy Brooke and John’s waterside wedding. It all started when John proposed to Brooke while they were boating down the May River, so it’s no wonder they chose to weave nautical elements into their wedding day (take those throw pillows bearing the longitude and latitude of some of their favorite places, for instance). But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Before the reception, there was a breathtaking ceremony at Church of the Cross, where large floral installations and garlands lined windows and wowed every guest who entered. From there, the celebration continued at the bride’s parents home overlooking—you guessed it—the May River. The newlyweds, who arrived by boat, were welcomed to a paradise aglow with bistro lights and punctuated by a white tent set with mahogany farm tables, blushing flora, and an anemone-accented cake by Signe’s Heaven Bound Bakery. Are you taking notes, you backyard wedding brides? A big thank you to Old South Studios for sharing this sweet wedding, and an even bigger congrats to Brooke and John!
