20 Aug Ava & Travis {Magnolia Plantation & Gardens}
If purple is the color of royalty then Ava and Travis’ November wedding at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens was one for the storybooks. It was “love at first heard” for this couple who met at a hospital in Las Vegas when Travis, a doctor, was making his rounds late one evening and overheard Ava, a nurse, singing a Jason Mraz song. He soon courted her and the next few years were full of outdoor adventures, a move to Washington, and the the birth of their two daughters. To turn the wedding of her dreams into a reality, Ava headed to Charleston and enlisted an impressive collection of local vendors, including rentals by EventHaus, 428 Main Vintage Rentals, Polished, and Ruth’s House. Special touche, like vintage doilies and lanterns, were brought from Ava’s homeland of the Philippines by her mother. And the bride personified 1920s elegance in a sequined halter dress, while Travis tipped a plum trilby hat to the era, too. Guests dined on an array of classic Southern cuisine, compliments of B. Gourmet Catering and then saw Ava and Travis perform a snazzily choreographed first dance. The party concluded with a sparkler exit sealed with the couple’s passionate moonlight kiss. Cheers to these two and their sweet little family!
