11 Apr Anne & Alston | The Riviera at Charleston Place
Ready for the second act? Welcome to the next installment of our Big Day “feature shows” at local historic theaters. This one, at the Riviera Theatre at Belmond Charleston Place on the corner of King and Market streets, is jam packed with Art Deco fabulousness. Even the bride and groom—Anne and Alston—got in on the styling when each donned looks inspired by the period (she in a slinky beaded sheath gown and him in a dapper suit with the most adorable Gatsby infused suspenders). The pair kicked things off when they said “I do” in a beautiful ceremony at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, then they and their guests headed a few blocks away to the Riviera, a stunning one-time theater from 1939 sitting just across from Belmond Charleston Place Hotel. (The hotel owns the theater and offers planning services, florals, and catering to events held there.) Bloom, the hotel’s in-house florist, created stunning florals for the swingin’ fête using a color palette of blush and burgundies inspired by the warm tones in the Riviera’s décor. Even the cake got in on the action with Art Deco designs around each tier. So start channeling your inner Zelda Fitzgerald and enjoy every bit of Anne and Alston’s Charleston wedding!
