22 Feb Anna & Capers {Middleton Plantation on the Edisto}
Although Anna and Capers attended high school together, it wasn’t until the two reconnected on the dancefloor at the Charleston’s annual Southeastern Wildlife Expo Soiree that sparks flew. When it came time for the two to tie the knot, a family friend’s estate on Edisto Island—Middleton Plantation—fit the venue bill perfectly with its charming Southern manse, magnificent live oaks, and sweeping marsh views. Somehow, the ladies of The Burlap Elephant managed to make the place even more stunning with bamboo ceremony chairs, a huge cloth Sperry tent with greenery-wrapped poles, modern light pendants, and lounge vignettes for an overall perfect blend of vintage-glam. Anna herself was a vision, too, in her cap-sleeved lace gown, low chignon by Wedding Hair by Charlotte, and blush bouquet by Out of the Garden. Being the gracious hosts that they are, Anna and Capers knew that they wanted to treat their guests to delicious food and fabulous entertainment, both of which were more than taken care of by Salthouse Catering and Quiana Parler & Friends respectively. Truly, from beginning to end, this Southern soirée is the perfect way to kick off the week!
