03 Jul Andrea & Paul {William Aiken House}
Let’s just say that when bride Andrea shared Valentine’s Day wedding with us, we were definitely hit by one of Cupid’s love arrows. Andrea and Paul’s nuptials took place on one of those beautiful February Charleston days where the wintry sunshine is bountiful but the temperatures are temperate—perfect for a courtyard ceremony at the William Aiken House under a giant wreath of white hydrangeas and gold-painted leaves by Branch Design Studio. (Another floral element that I’m obsessing over is her all-white bouquet of sweetpeas—how elegant!) Once the two had sealed their vows with a kiss, the perfectly planned celebration by Southern Protocol continued in the historic manse with a delicious dinner prepared by the Patrick Properties Hospitality Group chefs. (Interested? They operate Fish Restaurant on King if you want to sample their top-notch fare.) Tables were graced with navy napkins; tall golden candelabras overflowing with hydrangeas, blush roses, and sweetpeas; and and flanked by chiavari chairs. The real showstopper of the event, however, was most definitely the four-tiered cake adorned in a breathtaking trail of ombré blooms that went from red to pink. Wow!
