25 Jan Amandeep & Kirk {New Years Eve Wedding}
Now here is a Charleston wedding that had me at first sparkle! I have a love affair with Indian weddings. I heart the ornate henna designs that embellish the bride’s hands and feet, the gorgeous embroidered sarees, the fabulous jewels and days filled with ceremonies steeped in tradition. For this affair, the Bride’s mother traveled to her hometown in Jalandhar, India to pick out the fabric for Amandeep’s bridal saree that was hand stitched by the tailor who made dresses for her as a young girl. The gown weighed 17 pounds with the detailed jeweling and embroidery. The bride also 40 wore bangles at the wedding that were given to her the day before during the Sangeet ceremony. She will continue to wear them for 1.25 months after marriage.
