07 Aug Amalee & Marshall | McLeod Plantation
Amalee and Marshall met through a campus ministry program when she attended the College of Charleston and he was at The Citadel. After he asked her out three times, she finally acquiesced. Thank goodness for that, because a few years later, while on vacation with Amalee’s family in the Georgia mountains, Marshall popped the question while the pair was hiking. The couple returned to the Holy City for their wedding at McLeod Plantation on James Island, where guests had been invited with a suite designed by the bride. A fan of the classic Southern tearjerker “Steel Magnolias”, Amalee, whose mother sewed her initials into her wedding gown, Amalee had her bridesmaids in “bashful blush” and carried bouquets loaded with magnolia leaves as an ode to the flick.
