You know what they say…being almost 10,000 miles apart makes the heart grow fonder. Wait, is that not how it goes? Regardless, that’s how it played out for Alexandra and Ryan, who met just a few months before she jetted from the Southeast to Sydney, Australia, for a nine-month volunteer program. Halfway through her service, Alexandra returned to the States for a visit, and she Ryan became an official couple; a year later they were engaged. Fast forward to their wedding, and the pair joined family and friends for a ceremony at the Medical University of South Carolina’s St. Luke’s Chapel before hosting a party at The Cedar Room. Photographer Caroline Fontenot got snap-happy and scored scores of sweet shots of the bride and groom and their awesome venue where YOJ Events had executed a wonderfully whimsical-meets-glamorous design, a perfectly foil to the rustic, exposed brick walls of the space. Branch Design Studio layered in blooms and greenery garlands, while Delicious Desserts whipped up not one, not two, but three sweet cakes for the couple. With a setup like this, we’re not exactly sure how they tore themselves away to dash out through a sparkler sendoff. Alas, all Big Days must come to an end, but not so for romance like that of these two. Best of happily ever afters to the newlyweds!
