13 Aug Allison & Christian | Governor Thomas Bennett House
Four-and-a-half years after Christian met Allison at a wedding, he embarked on a six-month design project. The goal? An engagement ring set with a yellow Ceylon sapphire from Sri Lanka for his sweetheart. When the heirloom-piece-to-be was finished, he and Allison headed to New Orleans, his hometown, where Christian proposed at a family brunch. For their wedding, the pair hired A Charleston Bride to bring their dream day to life at the Governor Thomas Bennett House. We’re nuts about that custom crest from Lemon Tree Calligraphy, and how many ways it was worked into the day’s events (it popped up on everything from the invitations to the dance floor). Allison says she’s smitten with it because it embodies icons from their courtship, places they’ve traveled, their personal histories, and their new monogram as a married couple. Today, a painted version hangs in their Los Angeles home. (See more from some of our favorite crests here.) Sounds like the stuff of fairy tales to us. Scroll on for more shots from Virgil Bunao.
