The Wedding Row: How did you and Grant meet?
Adriana: We first met in physical therapy school at Wingate University. I wouldn’t say it was love at first sign but Grant distinctly remembers what I was wearing the first day he saw me. We didn’t have much interaction in the beginning because we were very busy and both in relationships. It wasn’t until halfway through school that the stars aligned and Grant finally asked me out. On our first date, Grant planned a surprise day trip to Greenville, South Carolina, and throughout our courtship, he swept me off my feet. I felt like I was living in a Hallmark movie!
TWR: What brought you to Charleston for your engagement pics?
Adriana: Charleston is one of the closer beaches to Charlotte, where we live, and we frequent it often in the summer. Charleston also stood out above other options because of its obvious Southern charm and romantic ambiance.
TWR: How did Grant propose?
Adriana: Grant surprised me with a weekend getaway to Asheville, North Carolina. After a few hours of driving and me guessing what he had planned, we pulled up to a horse ranch and went riding through the mountains. It was breathtakingly beautiful and just when I was on cloud nine, Grant stopped, got off his horse, got down on one knee under a big oak tree and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.
TWR: Nice, Grant! As for the shoot, were there any behind-the-scenes stories?
Adriana: It was actually a very cold day in March (for Charleston) and we often had to take short breaks in the car to blast the heat just to warm up.
