When bride Caroline was studying law at New York University and Tom was following suit at Harvard Law School, several of their mutual friends were dying to set them up. When the two finally met at a wedding, they hit it off and started dating. It was right about then that Tom had to move to Houston for a job, but Caroline says the long distance didn’t bother them because they were committed from the get-go. “When we told our friends we were dating,” says Caroline, “they jokingly asked us when the wedding would be. Eight months later we had a date!” The two said their “I do’s” last September here in Charleston at Daniel Island Club, on the island where her parents live, and where Tom got down on bended knee four months earlier. (“We were both in a hurry to go ahead and start our lives together, I’m pretty sure I only let him get through about five words!” she says.) With such a short amount of time to plan, the duo hired planning queen Samantha Anderson to work her magic. And did she ever. My favorite part of the reception? All those fresh, fresh lemons.
