They say that timing is everything and that couldn’t be more true for today’s couple, Melissa and Shawn. These two grew up just three miles apart from one another on the Jersey Shore, but it wasn’t until a mutual friend’s party during the summer of 2010 that they met. Five years later, during a romantic private cruise on the Charleston Harbor, Shawn popped the question to his lady love. “I was totally surprised,” says Melissa, “and we were able to enjoy our view from the bow without the captain or crew even knowing until we were back at the dock.” For the Big Day, the happy couple recruited the team at Engaging Events to transform the Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens with a mix of organic elements and pastel décor.
