30 Apr Kristen & Dan | The Wickliffe House
Kristen and Dan had gone to the same high school in Alabama, but it wasn’t until after graduating that they met through mutual friends over a little St. Patrick’s Day celebrating at an Auburn bar. In between the green confetti and loud bands, Kristen says she got bold and (uncharacteristically for her) asked for his number. The next day, they started texting, and in a month the pair was exclusive. Six years later, the two were on a trip to New Orleans with Kristen’s parents. The last night there, after a romantic dinner in the French Quarter, Dan proposed in the middle of Jackson Square. Kristen shouted “Yes!”, and they soon scurried off to meet up with her parents at Café du Monde for celebratory beignets. (The newly betrothed couple was so excited that on their rickshaw back to their hotel, they kept shouting, “We’re engaged!” to passersby.) For their Holy City nuptials, this Alabama duo hosted friends and family for a ceremony followed by a cocktail hour at The Wickliffe House with roving oyster shuckers from Oysters XO and dinner, plus an end-of-evening champagne toast complete with beignets. Laissez le bon temps roulez!
