This week, we in the Charleston Weddings group have been happily soaking up all the pre-holiday events that have already begun to take over the town. From sweets with Christophe Artisan Chocolatier on Monday to tablescape ideas aplenty at Ooh! Events on Tuesday to Wednesday night’s 2014 bridal and bridesmaids preview with Maddison Row and Bella Bridesmaid at Zero George Street —inspiration abounds. As for last night’s fashion extravaganza, brides-to-be take note: glamour reigns for bridal parties with long, chiffon gowns from Dolly Pearl, Joanna August, and Amsale. And sexy backs for both maids (check out DP’s plunging cuts) and brides (lace illusion panels rife with embellished buttons and sparkling embroidery) are haute as can be. We loved the out-of-the-box accessory pairings from Hampden Clothing and the bejeweled headpieces from Charleston Events Hair and Makeup. Add bites and beverages from Zero George (the apple purée shots could turn me into a juicer), florals from Sara York Grimshaw Designs, and me-oh-my, did Easton Events create a lovely setting to get schooled in style. Newsflashes: For a wedding party look with a variety of styles and textures, Allison Cobb Long (Bella Bridesmaid) says to mix and match attendant gowns within the same colorway, like pairing Amsale’s lace offerings with her chiffon designs. And big headlines from Maddison Row? Sareh Nouri [www.sarehnouri.com/gallery] and Judd Waddell [www.juddwaddell.com/] have just been picked up by the shop. Talk about an early holiday present! Gracie (Lynn Easton’s cute pup) looked almost as excited about it all as the rest of us…
