11 Aug Bridget & Jeff {Governor Thomas Bennett House}
With a week full of beautiful Charleston weddings in the wings, we’re starting with one that plain stole our hearts. Bridget and Jeff married alongside beds of blooming purple foxgloves and beneath live oaks at the Governor Thomas Bennet House downtown Charleston. The historic venue was made only more beautiful when Ashley Wenz of Boutique Planning created a fully draped tent on the grounds, complete with crystal chandeliers that shone down on long banquet tables dressed in yellow table runners and larger than life floral arrangements of seeded eucalyptus, white hydrangeas, garden roses, and branches by SYG Designs. Another highlight was the masterpiece of a wedding cake by Jim Smeal with yellow and grey piped flowers and lace motifs—absolutely stunning. However, our favorite little detail—one of scores captured artfully by Tim Will Photo—has to be the “Mrs. Lyons” apron that Bridget popped on when she sat down for the scrumptious meal from Cru Catering and enjoyed a well-deserved glass of red wine.
