23 Apr Straight from New York to Charleston
Charleston brides have the great fortune that top gown designers from around the globe can be found just around the corner. Modern Trousseau of New York is one of the couture lines that Sarah Black, owner of Belle Couture Bridal and Fabulous Frocks, carries. She just returned from the Spring New York Bridal Market and she is excited and has generously taken the time to share some the details from her trip.
We had a blast a bridal market this past weekend. We stopped by the Modern Trousseau showroom and absolutely fell in love with the collection! The entire new collection will start arriving in our store this this week. Here are a few of our favorites….Wallis {see top photograph} is absolutely amazing. I just love the layers of tulle and the beautifully draped bodice. Not to mention, there is a fabulous belt that looks great with this gown.
Modern Trousseau has gone above and beyond. They commissioned a lace house in Paris to make a lace exclusively for them. It is a Chantilly lace re-embroidered with chiffon ribbon, and it is absolutely exquisite!! You can opt for “Jamie” which is an gown made entirely of this lace, or “Kendra” which has this lace on the bodice and along the hem, and the Chantilly lace in between.
Tia is gorgeous and is for the classic bride who wants a gown with a little “twist.” The handmade flowers are such a fun detail and the one-shoulder strap is so fun! This dress can also be made in strapless, which would be equally as stunning.
My absolute favorite gown is Martine. The skirt is constructed of handmade tulle flowers and the ruched bodice is so flattering. I just love the aubergine colored belt too! I know I am already married, but can I just have this for myself? This gown can be custom ordered as short or in a color for any event.
Ladies, mark your calendars for the Modern Trousseau trunk show at Belle Couture May 7 & 8 and receive 10% off your gown!
