While we’re suckers for a lovely wedding, we’re meltdown maestros over a good vow renewal. There’s just something about committed couples coming together to celebrate their anniversaries ceremoniously that’s infectiously joyful…and honestly, they really know what they are celebrating and committing to at that point. So it went with Sarah and David, who won a posh vow renewal at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens’ blockbuster wedding showcase, “A Lowcountry Affair”, this past January. The day brought together three other couples who similarly won ceremonies at various spots throughout the storied grounds, all decked out to the nth degree with blooms, décor, cake, and more. For their affair, Sarah and David (a longtime Lowcountry football guru who’s coached at Charleston Southern University and is now at West Ashley High School), met on the Schoolhouse Pond Lawn to recite their vows once again, this time after 25 years of marriage and in front of their children (plus some 30 showcase attendees). And for all you winter brides, take note of the icy details (that incredible floral installation from Tiger Lily Weddings, for instance) and the warm-hearted goodies (that dessert spread from Duvall Catering & Events with hot chocolate, mini marshmallows, and tasty candy canes). Delights all around!
