Lauren & Brandon {I’on Creek Club}

by Della on January 13, 2012

At TWR we are on Cloud Nine now that our newest issue of Smitten Magazine is officially launched! To properly celebrate the occasion and to wrap this week up gorgeous we are bringing you an absolute dreamy wedding at The Creek Club at I’on. Our phenomenally talented pals at Loluma coordinated this fabulously rustic chic affair. Every lovely detail is swoon worthy and captured to perfection by Theo Milo Photography. The cotton details and the pale blue bridesmaids are to melt over. We are simply obsessed.

The completely adorns bride, Lauren, graciously shared some of the amazing details behind her and Brandon’s big day!

“We wanted our day to not only celebrate our love for each other, but also share small pieces of ourselves with our closest friends and family.From early on in planning we decided on a “Rustic-Chic” theme to showcase the fun and whimsy of our relationship, but to also break away from the formal wedding traditions. It was also a no-brainer to us that we would be getting married in Charleston, where we first met, even after a recent move to Maryland.

We took great joy in collecting, designing,and creating many of our decorations. Cotton has been significant to our relationship from the very beginning when Pierce,while on our first road trip back to his southern hometown, stopped along the way to pick a bouquet of cotton from a nearby field. We wanted to incorporate this into all aspects of our wedding, from the invitations, table runners and decorations, to the bouquets and boutonnières, and much more. Mason jars,with their rustic charm and versatility,were used as candles, picture frames, bud vases… you name it!  All of the jars came from our personal collection of over 600, that we painstakingly gathered in the 11 months leading up to our wedding.The one item we were most proud of making ourselves was our tree slice cake stand. We were fortunate enough to salvage a slice from a local saw mill and turn it into a beautiful piece used to showcase our simple wedding cake.

During the planning process it amazed us how many details needed to be sorted out among countless people. The anxiety of not knowing how everything would ultimately come together was always in the back of our minds. We told ourselves that once the big day arrived – we would just take a deep breath, let go of all control, and have the time of our lives! And we did! We truly are thankful for our vendors who were all such wonderful individuals, incredibly professional, and never missed a beat from start to finish!From our simple nontraditional outdoor ceremony, to riding a tandem bike in the rain as we left our guests at our reception, our wedding day was exactly as we had ever hoped it would be – and more than we ever imagined!”

Miller – the ties are from Claiborne for Men and he did a great job picking them out. :)
