Kate & Grant {Pepper Plantation}

I love the wedding industry, how it grows and evolves. Patrick Hall Photography is taking using his photographic talent and adding in a dash of high definition video. These days it only takes a few clicks to share your wedding photographs, slide shows and videos, Patrick makes it possible to do all three at once. I love his blend and use mixed media. Meet Kate and Grant…a little rain on their wedding day did not dampen the celebration!

Grant and I met 6 1/2 years ago on a college trip to Anaheim, California. We both attended the University of South Carolina. Grant is from Columbia, South Carolina and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from college, Grant and I began our adventures together by moving to Denver, Colorado with our dog, Rivers. After a year of travel we decided to move back to the South where we grew up. We truly missed the southern accents, beautiful waters, greenery, and floral that the South is abundant of. We chose Charleston, because we had heard so many great things about the history, people, and activities that the city holds. We lived on Johns Island together with our dog Rivers for 2 1/2 years. On September 16th, 2009 Grant proposed to me on a sailboat in the Charleston Harbor. What more could you ask for…water, dolphins, sailing, and diamonds?

Grant and I got married on Sunday March 21, 2010. We wanted our guests to spend the entire weekend enjoying their time exploring all of Charleston and what it has to offer. Friday evening, we had a casual drop in for family and friends at Liberty Tap Room in Mt. Pleasant. Saturday evening, we had a Lowcountry Oyster Roast and BBQ at Bulow Plantation outside Johns Island for all of our wedding guests. And on Sunday, we had our Wedding Ceremony and Reception at Pepper Plantation outside Mt. Pleasant in Awendaw, South Carolina. It was a picture perfect venue. Our family and friends call it the “Pottery Barn”. It was relaxing, beautiful, and romantic. Our ceremony took place on the back lawn under a tent because of an unexpected rain storm. The only time the rain let up was when I walked down the aisle and soon after the reception began. The background of our ceremony was of a small pond and gazebo overlooking a beautiful water fountain.

Following our ceremony our guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the patio and photo booth before the dinner and dancing began! After enjoying fabulous food, drinks, and entertainment we departed in a Charleston Black Cab with sparklers.
